Another Project...

For about a week I've been playing with the idea of making a replica of Captain America. This all came about after some conceptual images were released regarding the new Captain America film being made. I was especially excited when it was confirmed that the movie takes place during WWII, staying true to the comic history.

So when I layed eyes on the image above, I knew I had to do it. My first custom came out really well and this time I wanna take it to the next level. Every detail in the photo will be applied to my figure. You can see I chose the Resolute Duke head, which I feel is very much in line with the character of Steve Rogers.

Base Coat...

Paint Problems...

Either I was in too much of a rush, or moisture got to it. It felt pretty dry, but when I went outside to do the first coat of paint - fog started to roll in from the ocean.

I thought I could get away with it, but the paint instantly started to crack. After it dried, I sanded it, used a swab soaked in thinner and wiped it down, and shot it with canned air to remove any loose debris.

Still deciding on where I'm going with this one. Leaning towards a desert camo scheme...needs a serious cleaning before anything else.

It's been about two months to see this figure through completion and it turned out much better than I anticipated. I'll post some hi-res pics when it's totally finished.
